Auckland Central Backpackers is a hostel located in downtown Auckland, on the corner of Queen Street and Darby, and approximately 15 miles from Auckland International Airport. The bus to the airport stops right out front. It's about a five-minute walk to the train and ferry terminals. The property's amenities include the free beer or soft drink on arrival, 24-hour front desk service, international phone service, fax and e-mail/internet services, currency exchange, mail handling, photocopying, postage stamps, phonecard sales, disposable cameras and film, T-shirt sales, short- and long-term luggage storage, bicycle storage, and storage for unique items (like surfboards or kayaks). ACB houses a pool table, laundry/ironing facilities, soft drink and snack machines, kitchen and dining areas, two stereo-surround big-screen TV rooms, lounges with couches, and the Net Cafe, serving lattes, cappuccinos, and snacks at all hours. All rooms (dorm bunks, singles, twin/doubles, and single-bed shared rooms) feature fully made-up beds, hot showers, and shared bathroom facilities.
